I'm not a fan of the detergent and white vinegar method of cleaning a shaving brush so I did a search for brush cleaners and one hit was Zingari Man at Murphy & McNeil. I've been wet shaving for a long time but don't keep-up that well, and never heard of these companies. I found a couple good reviews so I decided to try this. I also ordered a couple M & M shave soaps and will discuss those under those products. The instructions are somewhat brief but decided just to lather it like shaving soap. Using a mug I lathered the cleaner making sure I wetted all of the badger hairs. Rinsing with both hot and cold weather, the brush looked about the same as before I cleaned it... so I was wondering if this worked. However, after the brush dried it was fluffed out like a clean brush. So it worked fine and I'm pleased with this product.
I have a rotation of about 8 brushes. Keeping them clean can become a chore sometimes. I usually do a vinegar/water soak to clean them. This is much quicker and seems to be more effective. Leaves my brushes cleaner and softer. Two brushes that weren't lathering very well really benefited from the cleaner. A great product that does what it says.
