Select the Stone for the Hone - Offering a variety of vintage natural stones and synthetic stones to finish your straight razor to a shave ready edge! 

Each finished edge is unique in its own way. In general a synthetic edge will leave a sharper more keen edge while a natural will tend to yield a more soft mellow edge. This is not always the case as it also factors on the quality of steel the stone is paired with. 

The Progression: I will examine the edge under a microscope to see the bevel. If the bevel needs to be set/reset will take it to the Naniwa Pro/Chosera 1K. If not it moves to the next mid range progression Naniwa Pro/Chosera 5K. From there we get to the finer finishing stages on the Suehiro 10K Kouseki. If a further synthetic or natural stone is chosen that will be the final stone used to finish the razor on. Diamond emulsion .5 micron is offered here if one prefers before the final strop on Kanayama Cordovan Leather. 

The test shave is the ultimate test. I prefer to test shave the razor before sending it out to assure its standard and quality. If you prefer not to have it test shaved simply let me know. Every razor that is sent out will be fully disinfected with Clippercide (shave tested or not) and coated with Cameilla oil during its travels to protect the steel. 

1) This is for razor honing services only. Does not include restoration, blade repair, or chip removal. 

2) Razors with poor quality steel will not be accepted. Razor must be vintage or if newly produced (custom) of a high quality carbon steel or Inox (Stainless Steel). Any razors from Pakistan or ones that appear to be props or use for any other purposes than shaving will not be accepted. If your looking for a vintage or modern blade feel free to reach out and can recommend where you can look.

3) Free return shipping within the US. You will need to send me your razor and once the honing service is complete I will ship for free with tracking to your desired mailing address.
