Bhang is the most sophisticated scent Ariana & Evans has created to date. This vegan line, held in high esteem around the world, uses only essential oils, resins, and absolutes. The cannabis note is an in-house creation with a lush, herbaceous scent - though there is no actual cannabis in it. The aroma is complex and subtly blended, inspired by the traditional 'bhang thandai' drink of India. This drink, made of milk, ground nuts, and spices, is often enjoyed as part of religious festivals such as Holi. Its relation to Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, has made bhang a significant part of Hindu culture. In the 19th century, when the British colonized India, they elected not to outlaw bhang as its usage was too prevalent, and it can still be purchased in government-approved stores today.
Traditional Bhang Thandai Recipe and inspiration to creating this scent.
1 litre milk
2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tablespoon aniseed
1 tablespoon almonds
11 peppercorns
1/4 teaspoon saffron
2 green cardamom
1/2 tablespoon bhang seed powder
1 tablespoon melon seeds
1/4 cup dry rose petals
I took these ingredients, as my inspiration to create this wonderful scent.
