A cologne differs from an aftershave or perfumed water by incorporating not a mono tone fragrance, but a set of several olfactory notes, often distant, that evoke a main accord.

Top notes (the most immediate and volatile ones): This is a fragrance built on base notes, so these volatile notes only need to raise them: a fresh lemon balm and nothing else.
Middle notes (slower, but they last longer): The white notes of a night jasmine raise such important base notes.
Base notes (those who support and connect all the others): The formula is developped here, on the contrary. A protagonist vetivert that becomes wood thanks to a vanilla patchouli crystallized by black musk and amber molecules. Everything is warm and cold at the same time.
