• Gael Laoch is a special edition shaving soap set and collaboration by  Rafa Patino and John Perry with Murphy and McNeil that will include both mentholated and regular scented versions featuring an homage to the popular Creed Viking fragrance (no affiliation).

What is the Cause?

  "For those that follow John and Rafa you've seen the work, love for life, and love for this shaving hobby. It's a mutual respect from two guys who are similar yet so different. This Gael Laoch release is a follow up to BDLM, Barbershop De Los Muertos, which was a small release done last year that was very well received and had many people wishing they got in on it. When the time came to plan another release they had this scent on their mind and knew exactly the artisan to do it. The fact that everything ties together so well is no accident either.
  
  Murphy and McNeil, with their affinity for Irish/Scottish history and symbolism, has been producing arguably one of the top tier soaps for a little while now. This made it more than easy to ask Bill for a collaboration on this set. The time has come.
  
  The Norse–Gaels were a people of mixed Gaelic and Norse ancestry and culture. They emerged in the Viking Age, when Vikings who settled in Ireland and in Scotland adopted Gaelic culture and intermarried with Gaels. The Norse–Gaels dominated much of the Irish Sea and Scottish Sea regions from the 9th to 12th century. Bad asses are the ones who survived and thrived.
  
  Gael Laoch is a set in tribute to those who get up each day and conquer. For some it is those that serve and protect us and our way of life. It is also those that show up daily and work hard in their day to day life. They are your friends, family, coworkers, and strangers.
  
  Warriors in the simplest form and those that you count on, even when you don't realize it.
  
  The scent on this set is inspired by Creed Viking and is one that will evoke these feelings in us all."

• This set will use a modified version Murphy and McNeil's duck/tallow formula that so far has been well received by the community!  This version of the formula has been tweaked to yield a much firmer soap.  This is to ensure a good shipping experience in the heat of summer, and also in response to community feedback.
  
• The scent is a take on Creed's Viking.  This pleasant scent is light to medium in strength for this offering.
• Gael Laoch is a "dual release" effort, meaning there will be two version of our Soap and Aftershave.  The BLACK version will be our regular scented, while the WHITE limited edition is a mentholated offering for a nice snappy chill during your shave and post-shave.
• All products related to this launch have been posted at our website for preview purposes.  Inventory will be added to these items on launch day/time.

• This set is a special edition/limited drop.  Whether or not the fragrance will be used by Murphy and McNeil in the future is TBD.
• Once live, the product will be sold as standalone soap, or in one of various options we will have for sets.

FAQ:

• Where can I read about the soap and brushes?  The Gael Laoch soap sets and the Teton Shaves "Skadi" brushes are visible already at Murphy and McNeil's website.  Please visit there to learn more or to sign up to be notified when the product releases (limited slots available for notification.)

• If you sell out, will more be available?  If all available bundles and soaps sell out same-day, Murphy and McNeil may open a very limited "preorder" window on another batch of soap (though note that labeling may revert back to our typical white/black theme that most of our products follow.)  These will be made-to-order and will ship within 3-5 weeks.  We like to avoid 'fear of missing out' as being a main reason to purchase our products, and will work hard to meet the demand.  The hardest part of meeting demand is predicting it properly, but we'll do our best!  

• What does shipping cost?  
• Murphy and McNeil offers 100% free U.S. shipping with no minimums. 
• NEW for this release is our updated international shipping policy.  International Orders under $50 will receive a $5 discount vs. what we pay, or orders over $50 pay a FLAT $10 international rate. 
• Our vendor/retail partners will follow their own policies.  For international customers, Murphy and McNeil offers a calculated rate based on the weight/size of your package and the service level chosen.
