The Triskele, or triquetra is a symmetrical triple spiral design. It is a symbol with a long pre-celtic history, versions of which are used today (try a search for the symbol of Sicily, or for the symbol of the U.S. Department of Transportation.). Versions of the symbol have been found in prehistoric rock from long before the arrival of Celts in Ireland. Much like the Trinity, in Celtic Christianity the triskele took on the meaning of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While also representing the nature of live/rebirth and eternity with it's ever spiraling extremities.

This stuff lathers easy and gives me the best shave ever.
Triskele is my first Murphy & McNeil shaving soap. Let me begin by saying I really love the scent. M&M put a dash of something special in the mix to make this traditional barber shop scent really stand out. Not sure what it is, but it's a fantastic scent. It gets the seal of approval from the wife to boot. I love the design and the B&W color scheme. Plus, I really like how this company donates a portion of their proceeds to those in need. Very classy. Now for a commentary on the soap's performance. The first time I tried it I wasn't all that impressed. The lather was thin and didn't really provide much slickness or cushion. The second pass was even worse as I felt no residual slickness whatsoever. This all seemed strange since this is a tallow based soap. I must've been doing something wrong. I decided not to pass judgment until I'd had another go. I decided to spend more time loading up the brush and see how it went. Well, that did the trick. The second attempt proved fantastic. The lather was every bit as thick and rich as I'd hoped. Very slick with a great post shave. I guess I just didn't get enough of it on my brush. Lesson learned. I can't wait to try out other scents. Highly recommended.
First off the customer service has been for me amazing! Bill was in contact with me daily keeping me informed about my small order of Triskele Soap and Shave balm. The product itself did not disappoint and lived up to all I saw during my research. The scent is amazing , the lather was silky slick and no problem getting a good amount of lather with not a lot of loading. The balm was equally pleasing and lasted most of the day , which I didn't expect! The price point , service, product and delivery prompted me to immediately order the same combination soap and balm in the Garda Siochara sent! Lastly, the collaborations they have with other artisans and their contributions to worthy projects, to me makes them a class enterprise of which I will become a modest customer for a long time to come.
Ease of lathering, slickness, protection, nice scent, and great post shave. If it sounds like this soap checks all the boxes, its because it does.
Triskele shave soap is a traditional barbershop scent. This soap is extremely soft, in my opinion, I would call it a thick cream. It takes a great deal of water. However, I would not recommend blooming this soap, but rather just adding a little bit of water at a time to find that sweet spot. The soap also a very good post shave and very nice slickness as well.
